Once upon a time there were nearly thirty licensed distilleries in the town of Campbeltown. Today, there are only three and just two of these, Glen Scotia and Glengyle are open to visitors.
Glen Scotia Distillery is one of the smaller whisky distilleries in Scotland, but it is also one of the most original and authenically preserved distilleries as it still maintains much of its original design, including
the fermenters, the stillroom and the dunnage warehouse all of which date from the 1830s.
For a small distillery, Glen Scotia Distillery run a very wide range of tours and tastings including several”behind the scenes” tours and warehouse hosted by senior distillery staff and an exclusive VIP tour and tasting hosted by the Distillery Manager.
