Originally founded in 1898, Benromach Distillery changed hands several times over the next 100 years of it’s history before falling itodisuse in the early 1990’s.
The Urqhart family who own Gordon and McPhail then rescued and refurbished the distillery which reopened under their ownership and management in 1998.
Since then, Benromach has lived up to its name as the Classic Speyside Single Malt Whisky.
Great emphasis is placed by Benromach Distillery on the hand crafting of their whisky. All spirit cuts are done by hand using louching / demisting tests at the spirit safe.
All casks at Beromach are hand filled and sealed in first fill bourbon and sherry casks before being stored in old fashioned earth floored dunnage warehouses.
